BRINZAL is a non-profit asociation founded in 1986.
We work with injured or sick wild animals to return them to the wild . BRINZAL is the only Rehabilitation Center specialized on OWLS in Spain. We work in five courses of action.
REHABILITATION
It´s our main activity. Treating injured or sick owls includes the reception, care, rehabilitation, and return to the wild those owls who are injured or sick and they are enable to live their own.
· RESEARCH PROGRAMS
Working with wild birds gives us the oportunity of taking scientific data that would be very difficult to obtein otherwise. BRINZAL is working on parasytology, surgery, oftalmology, imprinting, captive breeding, etc. These works are made with the colaboration of the Veterinarian School of the Complutense University of Madrid.
· FORMATION
The complementary formation we gave to biologists and veterinarians on the management of wildlife is done by specific courses, in our Rehabilitation Center and with the colaboration of the Birds of Prey Group of the Veterinarian Faculty.
· CONSERVATION
The developement of conservation studies is the only way to preserve our wild OWLS, their habitats and the rest of the wildlife.
· EDUCATION
We consider this to be very inportant to conservation. Our Center makes people aware to the need to protect and preserve birds of prey and their habitats. We´ve developed many lines of education reaching from the returned to the wild those birds who have been rehabilitated in the Center to particular enviroment problems. In all of these we work with children to teach them what can they do for the wild.
